101s POSITIVE DISCIPLINE

Dr Mai, in partnership with HBIS, is on a mission to shape the future of early childhood education through Positive Discipline and EF
"Early childhood" may be th e shortest phase of a person's life, but it's undeniably the most crucial. This is the period when small, everyday experiences shape a child's physical, emotional, social, and mental foundation. Recognising the profound impact of early childhood development, I am deeply committed to providing the best possible care and education for our youngest learners.

Partnering with HBIS to Shape the Future
I am honoured to be collaborating with HBIS in this exciting endeavour. Together, we are actively contributing to the creation of comprehensive curricula and engaging activities designed to nurture well-rounded individuals. Beyond academics, our focus lies in developing essential life skills, fostering executive functions (EF), and building self-esteem to equip our students for a future filled with endless possibilities.

Positive Discipline: A Cornerstone of Our Approach
As a cornerstone of our approach at HBIS, I have introduced positive discipline to create a safe, nurturing, and caring environment. Children feel valued, heard, and empowered to express themselves authentically. Through gentle and understanding interactions, even during moments of guidance, we instil a deep respect for themselves and others while naturally promoting the development of executive functions.

A Focus on Growth and Process
We believe in recognising effort, perseverance, and the learning process rather than solely focusing on outcomes. Children at HBIS are encouraged to explore problem-solving, critical thinking, and hands-on learning. Our supportive and nurturing environment fosters both physical and emotional well-being.

Engaging Academics and Growing EF
Learning in a classroom that prioritises the development of EF makes children feel excited and challenged. It not only helps children focus and develop essential EF skills for life, such as planning, emotional control, and problem-solving, but also ensures they are well-prepared for future learning when they receive the right support at the right age.

Let's build the future together
HBIS is committed to being a place where children can grow strong, confident, and reach their full potential. We are not just teachers, but guides for both children and families on a path full of opportunities and potential. Therefore, caring for young children is not just a duty, but a joint effort to create a valuable future. Inviting parents to join us in learning and engaging in activities to understand and nurture children in the same direction is another mission we are dedicated to.
For our children are not merely our future; they are the future we are cultivating with love and care today.
